ETF Profile
ARMW ETF — Roundhill ARM WeeklyPay
ARMW is one of Roundhill's WeeklyPay covered call ETFs, providing exposure to ARM Holdings (the semiconductor IP company) while selling weekly call options to generate income distributed as weekly cash.
How ARMW works
ARMW holds ARM Holdings shares (or equivalent synthetic exposure) and sells short-dated weekly call options at a strike above the current price. The premium buyers pay for those options is collected and distributed to ARMW shareholders each week.
The trade-off is the same as every covered call income ETF: if ARM's share price rises sharply above the call strike, ARMW shareholders receive the capped gain (at the strike) rather than the full move. If ARM falls, ARMW absorbs the full decline — partially offset by the premium collected.
ARMW vs AMDY, MSTY and other single-stock weekly ETFs
ARM Holdings has characteristics that make it an interesting covered call underlying. Its implied volatility reflects its position as a high-growth semiconductor IP company with concentrated exposure to AI chip demand. Premium levels have been meaningful relative to other tech names.
Compared to more volatile underlyings like MSTR (MSTY) or PLTR (PLTY), ARM's volatility is more moderate — which typically means more stable distributions week to week and somewhat better NAV behavior, though with lower peak yield.
